EXCLUSIVE: Gerald Celente interviews retired Army Col. Douglas Macgregor to discuss the Ukraine War and how the world finds itself on the brink of WW III.
The wide-ranging, candid conversation covers what led to the conflict and the Western media's coverage since fighting began.
Macgregor said the “entire event has turned into a ‘Wag the Dog’ moment.”
Russian President Vladimir Putin has been depicted in the media as a paranoid dictator intent on killing anyone in his path.
But contrary to reports, Macgregor, citing sources, said Putin ordered his forces to show restraint early on because he was concerned about civilian casualties. He also hoped to limit damage to infrastructure and homes.
Macgregor said the Western media has been trying to present the war as black and white.
“On one the one hand, we have [Ukrainian President Volodymyr] Zelensky, who is now competing with Mother Teresa for the Noble Prize, and on the other side, we have Vladimir Putin, who is in the pantheon of evil men along with Stalin and Hitler. It’s just not that clear; it’s not black and white. And there’s no one interested in examining the truth.”
He said he believes the war will end sooner than anybody thinks.
"But it’s lasted longer than most anticipated, and part of the reason for that is Putin doesn’t want to kill large numbers of people in Eastern Ukraine. And he’s held back his forces,” he said.
